Here's another one of Sarah. I think this one came out OK, but I really wish I had been paying more attention to the top edge. I would have liked to have seen a little more of her face

If you come to this site regularly, you've probably noticed I haven't been posting as much lately. I've been very bummed about that. I just haven't had the time to go out and shoot recently. I'm hoping to change that soon. In the meantime I'm at least trying to find the time to go back through some of my older images. Here's a shot I did of Joyce back in June (07).

A couple of weeks ago I made an image entitled, Disturbing Dominique. It was my first time playing around with the Liquify tool in Photoshop. Tonight I decided to give it another try with this image of Alyssa. It has a few flaws, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
I'm no stranger to image manipulation, but historically I've always used more traditional photographic techniques... composition, color, contrast, etc... I'm only just beginning to dive into the kind of manipulation that is possible with Photoshop. Although I have no intention of abandoning my photographic roots, this is definitely an area I want to explore.
As a frame of reference, I'm including two additional versions of this image. One is straight out of the camera, no manipulation at all. The other is where I originally stopped in my post-processing. The best way to view them is to click on the first image, to bring up the large version, and then cycle through them using the arrow keys.
I find it very interesting that through manipulating this image, I made it into something that I actually like, and captures my attention. I thought the original image was so uninteresting that I almost tossed it. I'm glad I didn't
My original (post-processing) version.
Straight out of the camera.
