Maggie Loves Fort Funston (and so do I)

Our dog, Maggie Moo, at Fort Funston, California

Location: Fort Funston, CA

I’ve mentioned this several times before, but we take our dog, Maggie Moo, to the beach at Fort Funston every weekend. She loves to run in the surf and roll in the sand.

I work freelance, so my schedule can be fairly flexible. It affords me the luxury of taking time off in the middle of the week to get her out to Fort Funston a second time. Which is good, because if I didn’t, she would be climbing the walls by the next weekend. We went out there today and had a great time. Maggie did her thing, and I found a few things to shoot. I’ll be posting a few more images from todays walk.

The fact that Maggie needs to burn off some energy mid-week is actually a good thing. It forces me to take a break from work. It’s interesting, I take her there to get rid of some of her energy, while it seems to help me recharge a little. I think I enjoy it as much as she does.

On a side-note, you may have noticed that I’ve posted a few images that are a 4:3 aspect ratio (instead of my typical 3:2). That’s because I picked myself up a brand new walking-around camera the other day. I bought a Canon G9. I love my Canon 40D, but I don’t really want to carry it every where I go. It’s a little big for that. I wanted something I could just keep with me at all times. So far I’m pretty happy with the G9. I’ll be writing a full review once I play with it a bit more.

Happy New Year

Maggie Moo in Santa Hat

Yes, I’m still here. I know it’s been a while since I posted, but I just haven’t been able to make the time to go out shooting lately. It’s been totally bumming me out.

I don’t know how much time I’m going to have in the near future, but I do have some things coming up that will yield some new images.

The first is I’m attending another Nude Photography Workshop on January 20th. Based on my last experience I wasn’t sure if I would be doing this again, but I decided to give it another shot (no pun intended).

The second isn’t so much an activity, but a new toy. Anne Marie (my girlfriend) gave me a Holga for Christmas. It means going back to film for a while, but I am looking forward to playing with it. I’ll probably take it with me on the nude photo shoot too.

I’m also hoping to make a few changes to this site this year. My original intention was to show what I’ve been shooting, but to also profile other photographers and write about some general photography topics. I’m hoping to start doing that in the near future.

Stay tuned to the site for more to come.

At this point you may be asking yourself, what the heck is that? A clue can be found in the tags.

While in Chicago we stopped by Grant Park a few times. I’ve learned that Butterflies can be extremely difficult to sneak-up on.

I’m not a huge fan of Pit Bulls since my incident back in March, but with this black boa on, this girl looked pretty cute… in a vicious killing machine kind of way.

Gay Pride 2007

Untitled #4713

Location: San Francisco, CA – Gay Pride Parade

Today was the Gay Pride Parade here in San Francisco. I went down for a little bit this morning, but I didn’t get into it as much as I had hoped. I stayed up way too late last night (3:30am) working on some under-the-hood stuff for this site, so I was wiped out today. I did get a few good shots that I’ll be posting this week. There probably won’t be enough for a dedicated gallery though.

I also had another photography-related expedition this afternoon that was extremely interesting, but I’ll wait to write about that until tomorrow.
