Tonight I switched the software that powers this site from Pixelpost to Wordpress. Over the next week or two (I hope), I'll be tediously re-posting each image from the old site. Until I get everything moved over, you can see all my previous images on my old Pixelpost site. I'll be working backwards from newest to oldest, and I'll be using the date the images were originally posted, so the old images will appear before this post. I may also delete each image from the old site as I re-post it here.
I started this site almost a year ago. At the time I was only looking for an easy way to post what I was shooting, and Pixelpost seemed like a good solution because it is specifically designed for Photoblogs, and it was relatively easy to get up and running quickly. As time went on, I began to feel frustrated with some of Pixelpost's technical limitations, and also began to re-define what I wanted this site to be.
Many Photoblogs put the emphasis on photo, in that they show one large image per page. I followed that format when I started mine too, but I later began to think that this was giving the site a semi-formal look to it, as if I were presenting work from a portfolio. This site was never really intended to be a portfolio... in fact, I often post images that aren't necessarily my best, they're just what I'm currently shooting. Given my intent for this site, I wanted to shift the emphasis back towards the blog side of photoblog, since that's really what it is. To that end, I'll be posting more images per page, and occasionally posting other photography related content as well.
The new wordpress site is still a little rough, but I'll be tweaking it over the next couple weeks.
