Lionel
Location: San Francisco, CA
I was standing on the corner of Van Ness and McAllister, waiting for the light to change, when this man walked up...
Man: Spare a smoke?
Me: Sure.
Man: Spare some change?
Me: No.
Man: Will you take my picture?
Me: OK... -click-
Man: My name is Lionel.
Me: I'm Paul.
We both walked our separate ways. The entire exchange took only a few seconds. I'm not sure why he asked me to take his picture. Maybe he thought I would pay him for it. Maybe he just wanted there to be a record of his existence.

I like the "record of existence" line. I live in Manhattan Kansas where people are too scared to have there picture taken. I need to move to a place where they embrace creativity and culture and are not afraid of a camera lens.

Short and limited interaction but one with a significence.
This story is moving as well as Lionel's image (well done). He will indeed be remembered.
